Installation

Installing the Silt Warden is straightforward. It is specifically sized to fit standard drain pits. To install, simply lift the grate, position the silt trap within the pit, and secure it in place using the grate. For added stability, reinforcement can be achieved by using zip ties to attach the handles to the grate.

Maintenance

After installation, it is essential to regularly inspect both the Silt Warden and the drain pit, especially following rain events. Once the Silt Warden reaches its capacity, it can be safely removed with lifting equipment such as a forklift or small crane. Proper disposal should be carried out in accordance with local regulations to ensure environmental compliance.
